Our Garden

We have had a successful summer with our garden as you can see from this zucchini - they are monsters and that is just after a few days of forgetting to check the garden. We learned a lot and hope that next year can even be better. We have no idea why it grew so amazingly so hopefully we can do it again!

Here is our strawberry and pea patch.

This is our pumpkins that are trying to take over everything. They pretty much took over the watermelon but we still have a few watermelons growing so we hope they taste good.

Our zucchini and spagetti squash are gigantic - we should have planted half as many but had no idea they would get so enormous.

We planted 16 tomato plants and they are huge. If you have any great suggestions for tomatoes, please share - we are going to have literally hundreds by the end of the week!

Beautiful garden. I love vegetables from the garden (who doesn't?)
We do tomatoes on grilled cheese, I have been making bruschetta (tomatoes with some basil, balsamic vinegar, olive oil and garlic), plus tomatoes are fairly easy to can, so you can enjoy them all year!
I wish I could come enjoy them with you :-)

Your garden is amazing! My mom just got finished canning a bunch of homemade salsa (which I LOVE!) with tomatoes. Let me know if you want the recipe.

We've been in TN for a while, I got your message when we got home and will call you soon!

I couldn't keep my tomatoes picked fast enough to make fresh salsa. We enjoyed it for weeks - there's nothing like salsa fresca - I just dice red onion & add a little cilantro with the tomato, it's so yummy.

Isn't it so nice to have a big yard for a garden? Are you loving your house? Miss you guys!

That's an amazing garden! Ours is tiny, but it has grown like crazy as well. Candi makes a killer salsa with almost all fresh ingredients from our garden - tomatoes, jalapenos, green peppers, green onions, etc. You should make a bunch of zuchini bread too. Yum.

Beautiful garden! We've been doing a bunch of homemade sauce for pasta with all kinds of different ingredients and meats and different pastas. Plus adding tomato to any kind of sandwich ... today it was added to the monster tuna melt ... have fun!

You planted 16 tomato plants???????? That is a ton! Man! We have 5 and are going nuts because we can't eat them fast enough. Everyone thinks we're crazy for doing so many so next time someone says so, I will have to tell them about your 16. hahaha! Make some pasta sauce - it takes a ton of tomatoes to get a good amount.
